Nurture Photography

Autumn’s come and gone, winter’s arrived and I’m teaming up with Kristi of Live and Love Out Loud to bring you the Nurture Photography Winter Challenge!

Nurture Photography, Photo Challenge, Winter 2013

Nurture Photography is a seasonal photo challenge series that encourages participants to capture beautiful images through tips and tutorials, inspiring weekly prompts and personal feedback – all designed to nurture one’s creative vision and technical know-how.

The winter installment of the Nurture Photography Challenge will run from February 1st – March 1st and is open to everyone regardless of skill level, time commitment, camera equipment or geographic location.

Let your photography flourish

Join our burgeoning community of photographers. Stop by each Friday and share your favorite images inspired by one or both weekly prompts. We’ll have a few freebies, photography tips and tutorials and a whole lot of inspiration along the way.

Get involved, be inspired and let your photography flourish.

Here’s a look at our inspiring weekly prompts:

Just a few more details…

Not experiencing winter in your part of the world? No problem. All are invited regardless of geographic location.

Two prompts to choose from each week! Share your favorite images inspired by one of our weekly prompts. Or both. It’s totally up to you.

Each Friday, stop by and share your favorite images inspired by our weekly prompts by linking directly to your Nurture Photography Winter Challenge blog post or Flickr photo, not your blog’s home page or Flickr Photostream.

The linky will remain open from 9am Friday – 9am Thursday CST. Don’t forget to visit and comment on the previous entry in the linky list.

Each week, we’ll bring you photography tips and tutorials to get your creative photography juices flowing.

We’re sharing the photography love and showcasing our talented photographers by pinning some of your lovely photos to our Nurture Photography Inspiration Board.

The Nurture Photography Challenge has taken to Facebook! Stop by, “like” our new Facebook fan page, ask questions and share your work on our wall as well.

We love Instagram just as much as you do! We’ll be on the lookout for your beautiful winter photos, so be sure to use the #nurturephoto hashtag. We’ll share a few favorites on Instagram each week, sending a little bit of love your way.

Last, but not least, don’t forget to grab our lovely button!

I’ve stumbled upon you by accident! I love the idea of Nurture Photography, because I’m a photography teacher at the high school level. With your permission, I would like to introduce my advanced photography class to your site so they may participate. I, too, am mostly self-taught with the exception of a few photography classes; one of those things that gets tossed in your direction with a teacher/curriculum change and if you want to keep the teaching job, you do what you have to do. I’ve not regretted it one bit! Photography has opened up a new world of art and expression for me to explore and and now I’m trying to share that excitement with my students.

So, please let me know if this sounds like something we may participate in, or it may be just myself sharing in all the fun.

    Thanks!

    • Hi Sandra! Sorry I missed this yesterday morning, the notification went into my spam folder for some reason. I’m going to sit down and shoot you a longer email reply a bit later, but the short version is that yes we would absolutely love for you and your class to take part in the photo challenge!

Thanks, Rebecca! I will share your site with my Photo II’s tomorrow. We are starting a new semester. I think this will be a very worthwhile experience for them on many levels. Looking forward to hearing from you, but appreciate your busy time with a little one at home. No rush.

My class has been very busy constructing their new blog site! (I think it is more that some my students have become the teachers in the class for those of us who don’t have a clue what we are doing! :-) Once the kinks are out and we feel we are presentable, we will open it up for you and your friends to come and visit. As you can understand, we have to be careful with people who seek us out. I’m very protective of my school family and I have to make sure there is not a chance for unwanted followers if you know what I mean. In the meantime, do any of you have any suggestions or tips you can pass on to us newbie bloggers?

  10. Oh, yes this is just wonderful! I forgot about this, thanks for reminding me! I will hopefully be joining ;)

Hold on to your hats! I think we may have a blog site. Please visit http://www.westlandhighschoolphoto2.wordpress.com and let us know what you think. My students and I would appreciate any tips and advice on how to improve our blog site, and always like to hear feedback on our photos. We have many more to post, so peek often! I’m so proud of my students right now, I can’t stop smiling!

    Thanks!

    Sandy

  12. Not sure how to join the challenge. I have a blog site at marciesnook.blogspot.com and check it out.

    • Hi Marcie, sorry it took so long for the reply… my internet has been down all morning! I see you found where to link up though, thanks for taking part and please let me know if you have any more questions!

I’m trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it’s
the blog. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
