We didn’t go away for Spring Break, instead choosing to spend the time getting to know the lake and the woods near our home a little better. Mikey’s vovó came to visit for the week from Chicago and then after she had gone home, during our last few days of Spring Break, we walked to the lake to look for shells, rocks, and whatever other interesting things we might find.
Mikey loves throwing things in water, so most of our time was spent watching the way differently sized rocks splashed as they hit the surface of the lake. But we kept some particularly interesting rocks and shells to bring home with us. We took the weekend to regroup, clean the house, and prepare ourselves for a return to a normal routine. Even just one week of guests and no school makes it hard to go back to normal, we are creatures of habit.
