The rain we’ve been having lately managed to hold off for Halloween, instead we had chilly and cloudy October skies. It took us a little while to decide where to take Mikey trick-or-treating, according to neighbours our new little street does not get many trick-or-treaters anymore due to the steep hills and widely spaced houses. It’s a shame really, the looming trees all around us look quite perfectly creepy on Halloween night.
Mikey was very excited, and wore his costume for most of the day. We left the house as it was starting to get dark and drove over to a parking lot in a nearby town where there was a trunk-or-treat, with games and a bounce house. Mikey is addicted to bounce-houses, they must be one of his favourite things in the world… so he was happy with this outcome.
After we returned home we put on our porch light, but had no trick-or-treaters as predicted. We watched some spooky kids movies in the dark (Hotel Transylvania has become a favourite at home), and then after Mikey went to bed my husband and I settled in for a night of “leftover” candy, wine and watching iZombie on Netflix.
