After our trip to the zoo last week Mikey has been doing some research on the Slow Loris. The Slow Loris was one of his favourite animals he saw at the zoo and he was particularly interested in their huge (and very cute) eyes. This research meandered around, as that sort of thing so often does, and brought us to the more general topic of nocturnal animals.
Chicago was a little dreary last week, with rain and storms scattered here and there. A library trip was obviously in order, to seek out a few books that we could use for our research on nocturnal animals. Mikey wanted to wear his lovely new rain boots from George at ASDA in case we found ourselves caught in a rain shower, and he was right, the rain began to fall just as we made it to the downstairs door of our apartment.
While the rain splattered on the living room windows we looked through the books that we have brought home with us. We lounged on the couch in comfy clothes, talking about the animals we had seen at the zoo and comparing them to the ones we found in our research books.
Mikey has decided to use some of our ideas and resources to make a big poster about the Slow Loris. We’ve written our plans for research, and ideas for what information we should include on the poster. We’ll be doing some more research on other nocturnal animals as well, to compare to the Slow Loris. There are lots of fun and interesting things to learn!
