It has taken an inordinate length of time for me to get used to being back at our home in Chicago this time around.
My husband had kept our home in beautiful condition while Mikey and I were away. I still had my own vacation laundry to wade through and a few little home projects to catch up on. It was straight back to work on the apartment, as well as the work that I do for Cedar Grove Publishing.
I just this week have begun to feel human again. In our still-new-to-us home I can push my toes into the hardwood floor, breath deep and feel grounded.
England was wonderful, as is always expected. It was lovely to be able to spend some time with my family. The journey to and from becomes increasingly difficult each time, but it is always worth it.
