Toy Camera

You might notice that the leaves in these photos look decidedly Autumnal. The photos were, in fact, taken mostly during the month of October last year and it has taken me this long to get around to developing the film.

I wandered around with the little toy camera loaded with out of date film every now and then, trying to shoot something interesting, not really sure how the photos would turn out. Although the results are obviously low-tech I’m really happy with them and their weirdness. The camera is a point and shoot camera at its most basic: A plastic body to be loaded with film, a dial to wind the film and a shutter release button. But it does have four plastic lenses which expose each corner of the film consecutively after you hit the shutter button.

One of the lenses appears to have scuff marks on it or something, judging by the blurriness in the top left of each image.

After getting these back from the shop, I immediately loaded more film into the camera. They’re not perfect at all, by any stretch of the imagination, but this is kind of fun! Even if I did manage to photograph my own finger several times. You would think that I didn’t know what I was doing, apparently I don’t.
