Let it Snow

During the final seven days of 2012, our neighbourhood in Chicago has been covered with beautiful fluffy snow. It began snowing on Christmas day, despite the weather report telling us otherwise, and it has snowed almost every day since then. The snow has melted and refrozen in places, causing me to slip and fall while on my way to work. One of the perils of working outdoors in all seasons!

But it hadn’t snowed in so long and after it did I realised that I had missed it just a little since last winter, along with the freezing weather, woolen gloves, thick socks, cold toes and drinking hot chocolate in the evenings. I’m a little sad to see it starting to melt.

  1. Such gorgeous photos! I especially love the detail of the snowflake!! I’m always so amazed by their delicate detail! We got the same weather you had … it spread east to PA. I think we have about 1 foot of snow out there still!! Hope you didn’t hurt yourself when you fell!

    • Thank you 🙂

We haven’t had as much snow as is usual for this area, but I couldn’t imagine living somewhere where it didn’t snow!
