Zoo Lights

Last Friday evening we took Mikey to see the Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo and to meet Santa. I walked a little faster that afternoon to pick him up from Preschool, he ran to me from inside the classroom to where I was waiting outside and I hugged him extra tight.

We bundled ourselves up in coats, scarves and hats and headed out to the Zoo. When we arrived we ate fresh popcorn from one of the stands inside the zoo, watched ice sculpting and wandered around with the crowds to look at all of the beautiful lights and decorations at the zoo.

After wandering around and looking at the lights for a while, we took Mikey to stand in line to see Santa. He was so excited to meet Santa and stood patiently in line until it was his turn, playing with his reflection in the distorting mirrors and making faces at the other children waiting in line.

When it was finally his turn, he sat next to Santa in the sleigh, told him that he had been a good boy and whispered to him the one toy that he wanted most for Christmas.

  1. Very pretty lights at the zoo! The multi-colored trees are my favorite. Think of all the work to put them up.

What a fun experience for Mikey. I am sure it is great to see the magic of Christmas in his eye.
