Birthdays and Bronchitis

It’s no fun to spend the days leading up to your birthday sick with a cold, and especially not fun to have Bronchitis on your birthday. Mikey has been off school since last Wednesday, he was coughing a lot over the weekend and after a quick visit to the doctor he now has some antibiotics and an inhaler so he should be feeling better soon enough.

But still, Mikey turned five years old on Sunday. I had a long-winded blog post planned out, 5 years feels like some sort of special milestone. Moreso perhaps for a former preemie, and I’ve been thinking about it a lot these past few weeks. But instead of writing, I spent the time cuddled with him on the couch, watching cartoons and making honey tea for his cough.

Despite being sick, he did still thoroughly enjoy his birthday. Playing with a few new toys and eating a chocolate birthday cake after his dinner.

Don’t forget! Kristi of Live and Love out Loud and I are hosting an awesome Fall Photo Challenge, designed to Nurture your love of Photography and with our tips and tutorials help you to make your memories flourish. We shared some awesome free printable fall photo tip cards earlier this week, if you haven’t seen them stop by Live and Love Out Loud to see Kristi’s creative suggestion for your printables, or here to see what I did with mine.

We both hope that you stop by this Friday, October 5th to take part! Head over to the Photo Challenge Page to find out more.

  1. Happy birthday! Glad he was able to still enjoy his birthday, it’s no fun being sick like that.

  2. Aww, my little girl, who is also 5, has been dealing with a bad cough for two weeks now, but she’s doing much better. It’s amazing how much energy they have even when they’re ill. Hope your little guy feels better. 🙂
