Apple Fest
Last weekend was Apple Fest in our neighbourhood. We walked down there in the morning, the cold air filled with the smells of delicious food from the food business booths. There was an abundance of beautiful fall market produce, laughter and games.
I warmed my hands on some hot apple cider while Mikey clambered over an inflatable obstacle course with a dozen or so other children, there may have been tears when it was time for him to get off an allow someone else a turn. He played a game at one booth and got to bring home a prize and a carefully chosen blue balloon.
He chose two miniature pumpkins to take with us too, for the window ledge in his play area that we are slowly turning into an Autumn display, decorated with found objects and crafts.
And finally, we of course brought home supplies to make apple pie later in the afternoon, which was enjoyed as the night fell, along with some vanilla bean gelato.

It’s my favourite season! We lived in Texas for a while when the boy was small and it was so strange to me to not really have fall.
