Shakespeare in the Park
I’ve been taking a break from my DSLR, enjoying some family time before my husband returns back to school and spending some time immersing ourselves in the local community. Last weekend we attended Shakespeare in the Park, a series of outdoor performances at parks throughout the city by the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. We lounged on the grass and enjoyed a great performance of The Taming of the Shrew. If you live in Chicago, there are still a few performances left, you can view the list here.

Amazing photos!
The weather looks fantastic. I’m from Australia and it’s miserably cold winter right now. I’m craving sunshine, and your photos have hightened that tenfold!
What a great event in perfect looking weather! Wonderful family time

There has been a lot of too-hot weather lately in Chicago, luckily I missed most of it while I was on vacation. Now it’s cooled down and is pretty perfect… glorious sunshine with a nice cool breeze!
I’ve been on a bit of a DSLR break too. It’s been fantastic. Ha. The Shakespeare in the Park sounds fun. I did one once in IA.

I know they are doing something similar with another Shakespeare play out here in Detroit. Shame secondary school English lessons really put me off Shakespeare and now find his work really intangible. although maybe seeing it performed would add an extra dimension to his work.
