Summer Yard Work [Summer Daze]

Summer Yard Work [Summer Daze]

The rain in England has stopped us straying too far from Grandma and Granddad’s home this week. But the sporadic showers haven’t dissuaded us from playing in the garden.

I love watching Mikey play in the garden of the house I grew up in, although I was a little older than he is now when we first moved here. He has been playing at helping granddad with yard work, exploring the nooks and crannies, and examining insects. All of the plants and trees have grown a lot since I lived here though, and the garden has changed quite a bit with the years.

He has been learning to ride a bike with pedals (his granddad bought him a used bike to play on while we are here and he has most certainly outgrown his balance bike back home).

I’m reminded of a previous trip here, when he was much smaller. When we lived in Germany, the trips back and forth to England were easier. Mikey took his very first steps in our apartment in Germany just before his daddy deployed to Iraq. After his daddy left, Mikey didn’t even attempt another step until weeks later. We had made another trip to see Grandma and Granddad in England for a while. He found his feet again and learned to walk in their living room.

I’m teaming up with Alicia of Project Alicia and Kristi of Live and Love Out Loud to bring you the Summer Daze Fun Photo Party – a 6-week photo party link-up aimed at capturing your fun summer memories.

We’re taking things easy this summer. No prompts. No challenge. Just fun summer memories and a printable bucket list – our free gift to you.
