Summer Snapshots [Summer Daze]

We’ve not had any outings in England this week, and have just spending time with my family as our long summer vacation draws to an end. We’ve been doing some rainy day activities indoors, the gaps in the rain clouds have been enough for us to get outside in the garden and play and to mark a lot of things off our bucket list.

We’ve been exploring amongst the trees: hunting for bees and butterflies, watching rainclouds, and collecting interesting sticks and stones. We’ve been out to an activity garden in a nearby town a few times too, where we watched some ducklings swim on the pond, played hide and seek in the maze structures, and made music with the garden xylophone.

The rain hasn’t dampened our fun though, we’ve got less than two weeks left in England and we’ve had such a wonderful time being able to be here for the first time in a very long time. Mikey loves having the outdoor space, something we don’t have a lot of back home in Chicago. I’m just hoping we’ll get a little sunshine here in England during our last couple of weeks.
