Buds, Blossom, Leaves

Yet more beautiful weather again this week in Chicago. There are leaves on some trees, splashes of colour on others, and daffodils pushing their way up through the warm earth into the sunshine. We are usually outside most days anyway, even in the bad weather, but now we’re spending more time out. Walking where we might usually get the train, lingering on our walks, examining buds and blossom, running up and down sidewalks, chasing shadows.

Last Friday Mikey and I spent some time at the park, I brought his camera with us too. We played on the playground and as the sun began to sink in the sky we wandered the paths in the nature areas, both of us taking photos as we walked along. I just have to upload the photos that he took and I’ll share them with you later in the week. He’s getting much better at it, making sure to look through the viewfinder and deliberately point the camera at what he wants a photo of, instead of aiming wildly and pressing buttons.

And today is the first day of Spring! I’m teaming up with Alicia of Project Alicia and Kristi of Live and Love Out Loud to bring you the Leap into Spring! Photo Challenge, a 6 week long challenge aimed at capturing the beauty of Spring. It all begins on Friday April 6th, we’ll have tips, freebies and prizes!

Head on over to the Challenge Page to find out more!
