White [Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge]
We had some short flurries of snow in Chicago last week, one cold windy day and punctuated with bright sunshine. While Mikey and I were outside walking our neighbours dog, that sweet little face you see up there among the other photos. No snow substantial enough to settle on the ground, despite Mikey’s excitement. We happened to be outside for some of it and Mikey kept telling me that he wanted to throw big snowballs! I thought that perhaps enough of it would settle for me to be able to take photos for this week’s challenge, but no luck for either me or Mikey. Not even any glittering frost for me to photograph early in the morning, or perhaps I just haven’t been waking early enough.
On another very cold afternoon we bundled up in warm coats, gloves and hats. We headed out to the park, Mikey ran around on the grass… the cold air making his cheeks glow red. He helped me hunt through the nature garden in search of things that were white. Quite a difficult job, but we managed to find a few things here and there.
I hear that some of you have had snow this week, more than us at least. I’m looking forward to seeing what you all photographed for this week’s colour, snow or not. Yesterday, Kristi, Alicia and I shared a few of our favourites from last week’s colour, brown. Don’t forget to congratulate these ladies on their beautiful work!
