Purple [Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge]

I’m not going to lie, finding purple was tough. Not just because we’ve been so busy this past week, the free time I’ve had to take photographs being failures because of the cold rain. I personally don’t mind going out in the rain to take photographs, but didn’t want to drag Mikey out with me for too long. But it’s also been tough because purple has been hard to find! The photos I did get lean a little more toward magenta than purple and I hope you’ll forgive me for that.

The time I did go out, and took these photos, I was hoping to come across things like beautiful deep purple berries and subtly purple-tinged grasses. On previous weeks I’d spotted some ornamental peas of some kind with beautiful purple pods, the plant tendrils winding themselves delicately around wrought iron railings. I made a mental note to come back for them, then never did.  Now that I’m sitting down and writing this post, I’m thinking of other things that I could have photographed. A beautiful purple-grey cloche hat that I bought last month (that I did pin to my style board on Pinterest) that I haven’t yet had opportunity to wear and my most favourite tea mug that I photographed last year when we still lived in Germany, that sadly now has a small chip on the base.

Despite my lack of photos, I love purple and I’ve been looking forward to seeing what all of you have come up with this week! Yesterday Kristi, Alicia and I shared some of our favourites from last weeks colour, red. Don’t forget to take a look!

I’m teaming up with the lovely and talented Kristi of Live and Love Out Loud and Alicia of Project Alicia for the Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge – a colorfully inspiring autumn photography challenge aimed at capturing the beautiful shades of autumn.

Just a few details:
