Yellow [Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge]

I mentioned on the Bumbles & Light facebook page earlier this week that I was having trouble with the colour yellow. You can see above that a couple of these photos could have gone either with yellow or I could have saved them for next weeks colour, orange. Plus, I often find it difficult to photograph such vibrant colours without blowing the colour channel and losing detail, especially with reds and yellows. That’s all a part of the challenge though! It can be just as challenging for us, the hosts, to find these colours as it can be for everyone else and that’s ok! The idea of a colour challenge is that you’re encouraged and pressed into looking a little harder and noticing a little more. So if it’s difficult, then that might be a good thing because you’re paying extra attention to your surroundings than you usually would.

I’ve been taking my camera out with me on our little outings this week just in case I happen to come across the right colour. My parents are still visiting so we’ve been busy, out exploring almost every day. I spotted the leaves in the photos above while on a walk, little patches of yellow down pretty, tree-lined streets. The yellow flower was one of the last remaining in our local park, found while we were having a picnic earlier in the week.
