Shades of Autumn

An old photograph, from November of last year when we still lived in Germany. Not because I haven’t taken any photographs for a while, because I still have some left to share with you, but because it’s so perfectly fitting for my announcement today.

This Autumn, I will be teaming up with the wonderful and amazing ladies, Kristi from Live and Love Out Loud and Alicia from Project Alicia to bring you a photo challenge. This will be the first time I’ve done something like this, so I’m very excited about it!

This is just going to be a short post, the power on our city block went out all evening and has only just come back on, I want to get this written in case it goes out again! We did of course have to go out for ice cream sundaes while the power was out, any excuse for ice cream.

Each week, for the challenge, you will be given a colour prompt, an approach that I personally have found as a wonderful way to train your photographic eye and to be more present in your own environment. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what each and every one of you come up with!

All of the information that you will need for the challenge can be found on the brand new Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge page, along with a button for you to display on your own blog if you like. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful photos in October!

  1. this sounds lovely – i’ve put it on my calendar. it’s like shopping for clothes – it’s much easier to focus if you know you’re only looking for green!

but we don’t techincally get autumn where I live (climate-wise), so I may not be able to illustrate “fall” in the typical sense of the word. is that okay?

    • Yes! I know a lot of readers may not experience a fall or may live in a different kind of climate. The only rule really is the colour, so for example if the colour of the week is red – a photo of a red firetruck, red flower or red household item etc (anything!) would be absolutely fine. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
