Grass and Leaves

Monday began my husband’s first full day of school for this semester, and also Mikey’s first day of a more deliberate schedule of play and learning. We woke early, starting the day by seeing daddy off to school and then making breakfast for ourselves. Mikey helped me wash and cut tomatoes to cook with our eggs and ate more than half of them before they made it into the pan. After breakfast we got dressed and headed outside for some play with leaves. Mikey asked to bring his pencils and paper, he collected different kinds of leaves for me to draw for him, then followed my lead and drew them himself.

Of course, I couldn’t resist taking some photographs while we played. I’m seriously leaning towards more black and white photography lately, a phase perhaps… but I’m enjoying it. Of course, I have to get all of this black and white photography out of my system before October, when I’ll be teaming up with Alicia of Project Alicia and Kristi of Live and Love Out Loud to bring you the Shades of Autumn Photo Challenge, October 7th to November 25th. A colorfully inspiring autumn photography challenge aimed at capturing the beautiful shades of autumn. You’re all invited to take part, regardless of equipment or skill level and even if you’re not experiencing Autumn where you live.
