Blowing Bubbles
We stayed up super late on Thursday night, Mikey included. We were watching a storm pass over the city, and I was outside taking a few photographs of it. I think Mikey gets just as excited about lightning as he does fireworks, I suppose that I must do the same. I like a good storm and I like how it clears the air. I uploaded one of the best lightning photographs that I took last night to the Bumbles & Light facebook page if you want to take a look. We had a lot of fun watching the lightning fork across the sky, Mikey holding his hands over his ears in anticipation of the rumbling thunder to follow. Although we were out there for some time I must have missed significantly more good photos than I got, the lightning of course being unpredictable and me never knowing quite when to hit the shutter for a 3 second exposure.
So we slept in on Friday morning because of our late night. I was up before the rest of the family, pottering around in the kitchen and once Mikey and my husband were awake we had a calm relaxing day. Not wanting to venture out too far from home, Mikey and I went out into the shade of the courtyard outside our apartment building to blow bubbles. He still has trouble getting it just right and normally blows either too hard or too softly, but we managed to get some really good bubbles. He looks very serious in the last photograph, he was sad because his bubbles kept going too high for him to catch!

I like it that you’ve put your web site name on the photos. I particularly like the photo that Mikey is trying so hard to blow bubbles, the way his little fingers look is adorable.
