Splashing in puddles

I know that when I’m overwhelmed, I find it difficult to concentrate on a lot of things. I think that perhaps last week I hit a point where I needed to rush everything, just to get it done and gone. Now I feel like I have more clarity, something gained while I was purging old belongings from the apartment and pottering around on the porch yesterday planting small heirloom tomato plants into larger pots so that they would have more room to grow. Because sometimes I don’t think about how difficult this year has been for all of us so far, but we’re all adjusting because we have to.

Last week, after a hot few days, we had a welcome downpour of rain. Which meant that for the rest of the day, everything else was forgotten as Mikey and I ventured outside to splash in puddles.

I will pick up where I left off with the How to Take a Photograph series next Thursday. I’m sorry about the gap between posts, but you know how life is sometimes. Today, I think, I’m going to enjoy the sunshine and cool breeze on my porch. Mikey and I are going to venture out to run errands and visit the block yardsale on our street. Everything is beginning to settle down and return to a new normal.

  1. I know exactly what you mean about adjusting because you have to, but remembering that because you are doing it doesn’t make it easy. (or at least what I took your phrase to mean).

I need to get my kids some cute boots because we do have a lot of rain…but LOVE your shots, especially the first one!

  2. Aw. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful puddle pics for our Crazy Days of Summer! They are really great. I loved that first one the second I saw it. And no one knows how overwhelming and stressful life can be better than I do right now. Trying to sell our home is about killing me. So glad you are learning to take time for you in there. Have a great weekend!
