Ice Cream Parlor

This Memorial Day in Chicago was hot, but the temperature fell just short of being the hottest Memorial Day since the 50′s. Either way, our vintage apartment does not have the luxury of air conditioning so, my husband took a break from his school work and we decided to head out to find some ice cream!
We discovered that we’re lucky enough to live very close to an amazing ice cream parlor called Margie’s Candies. The place has been around since the 1920′s (although our one is the second, presumably newer location I think) and the ice cream was amazing, it’s all made by hand. It’s going to be difficult to stay away from that place now.
I hope you all had a great long weekend.

That first shot is fantastic! …of course, I am also completely drawn to the last shot. Glad it’s not within my reach right now! Looks like a great outing for a hot weekend

I love the picture of the ice cream case… the black and white, the long line of the case leading me to that darling chair at the end. I love it!
I’ll have 2 scoops please.
