Some photos from the past week. We ventured again into the city, this time to see the Vivian Maier exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center. As expected it was wonderful, it’s one thing to see the photographs online but quite another to see the prints in person… and really I would love to have some of them in our new house, I really should check to see if they sell the prints. Mikey enjoyed the exhibition too, he was particularly enamored with two photographs, one of the Chicago trains and a photograph of a little girl crying.
After the exhibition we wandered around Grant Park and Millennium Park, which is where the top set of three photographs were taken. Mikey loved running along the the bridges (BP Pedestrian Bridge and Nichols Bridgeway) and was curious at seeing his own reflection in Cloud Gate (aka The Bean). The weather was beautiful, so we sat watching squirrels and birds for a while before heading of to spend time with a friend who we are all very happy to be able to see again.
This week we also spent a lot of time outside, when the weather was tolerable. Having some friends over to see the lambs and play on Friday and plenty of yard work on Saturday. I put up a swing for Mikey and helped build a large doghouse for Rocky while Mikey and the lamb helped his uncle plant some of the first vegetables in the garden, getting quite muddy in the process (as pictured in the final two photographs).
You may have noticed that I posted on the Bumbles & Light facebook page that this month we were honored to be featured in The Barrel of Blogs magazine’s April issue! One of my photographs was used for the cover, another for the contents page and we have a full 5 page spread! Thank you so much to Melissa, who contacted me, and everyone else involved. Not only are we featured, but there are some great articles and delicious looking recipes in there too.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
