Three times every summer, Heidelberg Castle is lit with fireworks to commemorate the near destruction of the city and castle by French General Ezéchiel de Mélac in 1693. Last year we saw the fireworks from a boat on the river, but this year we took a place with friends on the riverbank to watch. Mikey played with his new crush, the daughter of a family who just moved here. She is only a few days younger than him and they had a blast playing together by the river and clapping at the fireworks.
Photos taken by my lovely husband, while I supervised 2 year olds playing on the river bank.
We’re having a relaxing Sunday, attempting to hide away from the heat and humidity. My poor vegetable garden doesn’t like it either. Hope you’re all having a great weekend too.
