Sickness and Vegetable Gardens

I detest being sick. There are things that I want to be doing this week and so far I’ve managed to do very little.

Now Mikey has caught it. Poor little boy has gunk pouring from his nose and watery eyes, he still wants to play but ends up sneezing over everything.

Despite being sick, we’re hoping to get some gardening done today. Yesterday we went out and bought everything that we need, a friend is visiting at 10am and we’re going to head outside to dig up our new vegetable garden. I’m excited at the prospect of eating fresh vegetables a bit later in the year. I also have some flowers to plant along the edges of the apartment, perhaps the fresh air will do Mikey and I some good.

  1. Oh, no! I’m sorry you guys are sick. I hope you’re both feeling much better soon. We planted a veggie garden last year and ended up with so many tomatoes it wasn’t funny. Our whole building was loving them! We didn’t have much luck with anything else other than the cucumbers (which we also had a ton of), but it was fun to plant them and spend some time outside (even though my allergies came back to smack me hard afterward). My neighbor and I are going to OBI this afternoon to buy plants. Yay!

I hope both of you feel better soon. I hate being sick too. I want to come and visit, when is a good time so I can start planning. Vovo (grandma)

  3. My little guy is sick. His tiny nose is a waterfall of thick, gooey snot. It’s fabulously disgusting, especially when he takes his baby face and rubs it all over me.

Hope you were able to get some gardening done. Your pictures are lovely! I love the pics of you and your son.
