Baden Baden

Our internet has been down since Tuesday afternoon. I called tech support today and was quite embarrassed to find that little fingers had been playing with the modem and all I needed to do was press a button on the back to get it to work again. Nevertheless I managed to get a whole lot done while it was down, including starting no less than four large wire and paper sculpture projects and cutting up and sanding down a coffee table which is waiting to be turned into a bench for outside our front door.

This weekend we spent an afternoon in Baden Baden, a Roman Bath  town in the Western Black Forest foothills,  about an hour or so South of where we live.

We played in the beautiful gardens and gazed at grand old buildings.

We rejoyced at the signs of Spring

We ate at a lovely, but expensive, restaurant in town and tried snails for the first time. Mikey didn’t have any.

don’t you feel great when that happens? i had the pleasure of lugging “broken” steam cleaner across town to the repair sop only to find that i hadnt put the lid to the tank on correctly.

Hi, I saw your blog link on Army Wife Chat, and decided to check it out. I love your style and the look of your blog! We’re PCSings to Germany this summer, and looking at your photos makes me even more excited.

    • You will love it here in Germany, it’s so beautiful! we’ve been here nearly 2 years and I’d just love to stay forever, lol.

Do you know where you’re headed in Germany?

      • Laurie

We will be at Landstuhl/ K-town area. I have not heard one bad thing about Germany so far.

  3. yes. i know this feeling.

    sitting in the car.
    slamming the car door.
    it won’t shut.
    cursing to myself.
    seriously? the DOOR is broken?
    oh, wait.
it’s just the seat belt buckle,
gasping for air and holding on for dear life.

  4. We really enjoy Baden Baden. We went there for a weekend getaway in September 08 and took some friends there for the day last month. It really is a pretty town. My only complaint is how pricey things are in the main town area.
